Job summary

Actalent’s Harrisburg, PA office seeks an Architectural Designer to develop drawings across design phases, conduct site surveys, and support feasibility studies. The role emphasizes collaboration with project teams, adherence to codes, and coordination of construction documents in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in architectural design or related project design roles.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, including BIM modeling for architectural projects.
• Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD for drafting and detailing construction documents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation, communication, and presentation.
• Strong architectural design skills, including schematic design and concept development.
• Experience with construction document production and detailing.
• Experience with field surveying and existing conditions documentation.
• Experience supporting feasibility studies and project planning.
• Experience providing construction administration support and coordinating specifications.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to speak effectively in public and write clearly.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently on smaller assignments.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team on larger, more complex projects.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality control in drawings and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive working drawings across schematic design, design development and construction documents.
• Produce construction document sets and detailing to convey design intent and support field construction.
• Conduct field surveying and document existing conditions to inform design decisions.
• Assist with feasibility studies and early project planning.
• Coordinate specifications with writers to align drawings and project docs.
• Provide construction administration support, coordinating with PMs and admins.
• Lead or participate in project meetings with consultants to resolve issues and maintain schedules.
• Communicate clearly in oral and written form in meetings and presentations.
• Establish relationships with project stakeholders including owners, contractors, consultants.
• Manage multiple projects or components with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team on larger projects.
• Apply building codes and standards to support compliance in design and documentation.
• Contribute to space planning and concept design for functional, appealing solutions.
• Maintain quality control across drawings and docs.
