Job Overview:

The RWJBH Facilities Management Planning, Design & Construction (FMPDC) team is committed to excellence in creating and maintaining facilities that support RWJBH's mission. We seek an Architectural Designer (AD) to develop Planning and Design solutions for our Healthcare Facility projects and support the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and compliance standards.

The AD will analyze operational workflows and end-user needs for healthcare projects, collaborating with various stakeholders to develop efficient architectural solutions for facilities such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, and medical offices. The role involves assessing programmatic needs and creating design solutions, working closely with the Architectural Planning Manager and technicians.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
• At least five (5) years of experience in an Architecture or Interior Design firm, with knowledge of building materials, engineering systems, and regulatory processes.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Healthcare Planning & Design, understanding healthcare building codes and regulations.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office Suite; skills in Adobe Photoshop, SketchUp are a plus.
• Ability to create preliminary sketches and understand project development phases.
• Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day Shift
• Full-Time

Essential Functions:

• Experience with healthcare spaces, including hospitals and clinics.
• Proficiency in space calculation and code application.
• Ability to perform onsite surveys and evaluate space conditions and workflow.
• Strong collaboration skills and problem-solving abilities.
