Job summary

SSOE Group in Des Moines, IA is seeking an Architectural Design Intern to participate in the design of state-of-the-art buildings and gain hands-on experience in a creative studio environment. This onsite role requires daily attendance at our Des Moines office.

You will work with experienced engineers and architects, develop working drawings, renderings, and cost estimates under supervision, and have opportunities for growth through our documented co‑op program.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a NAAB‑accredited architecture degree.
• Proficiency with Revit and design software.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate in a studio environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine project design assignments, with growing responsibility, guided by a project engineer/architect or department manager.
• Works from both own designs and designs of others, compiles data, performs design computations, makes quantity take-offs, and assists in preparation of cost estimates.
• Drafts interpretation of own design into completed working drawings and applies design fundamentals.
• Develops project details, prepares selections, and adapts to alternatives.
• Maintains working knowledge of the discipline's codes and studies non‑routine code issues.
• Performs production of construction documents.
