Job summary

SSOE is seeking an Architectural Design Intern for Summer 2027 in Columbia, SC. This on-site internship offers exposure to design of state-of-the-art buildings for leading clients and the chance to work in a collaborative studio environment.

You will perform design tasks under supervision, develop working drawings, and learn through hands-on involvement with project teams using Revit, rendering tools, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a NAAB-accredited architecture degree.
• Revit experience required.
• Strong 3D rendering skills with Enscape, V-Ray, SketchUp, or 3ds Max.
• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine project design assignments with growing responsibility under supervision.
• Works from own designs and others' designs; compiles data and assists cost estimates.
• Drafts interpretation of designs into working drawings.
• Develops project details and adapts to alternatives.
• Maintains knowledge of codes and studies non-routine code issues.
• Performs production of construction documents.
