SSOE is seeking an Architectural Design Intern to join our Birmingham, AL studio for an onsite role. You will contribute to design development, produce working drawings, and assist in cost estimation under supervision.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a NAAB-accredited architecture degree, with Revit experience and strong 3D rendering skills. This internship emphasizes hands-on learning, mentorship, and potential for future full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's in a NAAB-accredited architecture program.
• Revit experience required.
• 3D rendering skills (Enscape, V-ray, SketchUp, 3D Max, etc.)
• Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• Eager to learn and passionate about design
• Demonstrated leadership in school or community
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and graphic skills
• Resourceful, self-motivated, collaborative team player
• Salary Range: $20-$23 per hour

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine project design assignments, with growing responsibility, guided by a project engineer/architect or department manager.
• Works from both own designs and designs of others, compiles data, performs design computations, makes quantity take-offs, and assists in preparation of cost estimates.
• Drafts interpretation of own design into completed working drawings and applies design fundamentals.
• Develops project details, prepares selections, and adapts to alternatives.
• Maintains working knowledge of the discipline's codes and studies non-routine code issues.
• Performs production of construction documents.
