Job summary

Bespoke Careers is seeking a Business Development Manager for its Architecture & Design practice in Southern California. The role focuses on growing the firm’s presence, managing client relationships, and leading pursuits with leadership collaboration.

The ideal candidate will identify opportunities, develop proposals, and collaborate with marketing to secure new projects, leveraging a strong network and industry involvement.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of business development, marketing, or client development experience within architecture, design, engineering, construction, real estate, or professional services.
• Strong understanding of the Southern California real estate and design markets.
• Proven experience leading pursuits and developing compelling proposals.
• Established industry relationships and a strong client network preferred.
• Excellent communication, writing, and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines.
• Experience with CRM systems and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, is a plus.
• Active participation in organizations such as ULI, AIA, CoreNet, NAIOP, or SMPS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies and identify priority markets and opportunities.
• Research RFPs, RFQs, industry trends, clients, and competitors to support pursuit decisions.
• Lead proposals, qualifications packages, shortlist presentations, and client pursuits.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, developers, brokers, contractors, and industry partners.
• Partner with marketing on proposals, awards, PR, and market-facing content.
• Track pipeline activity, revenue forecasts, and pursuit metrics.
• Represent the firm at industry events and develop networking and client engagement opportunities.
