Job summary

NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic is seeking an Architect in the Planning, Design and Construction (PDC) Branch, ROICC Newport. You will lead in-house architectural design work, coordinate with engineering teams on DBB/DB projects, conduct field site investigations, and provide PCAS support after construction.

Strong experience with AutoCAD and Specs-In-Tact is required. Eligible candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field with substantial professional experience.

Qualifications

• Develop design drawings and specifications for new facilities or repair/restoration/alteration using advanced architectural software such as AutoCAD and/or Specs-In-Tact.
• Participate in on-site analysis to collect data and develop scope for construction projects.
• Coordinate architectural design with engineering disciplines to ensure site and building design compatibility and efficiency.
• Investigate architectural issues and recommend remediation or corrective measures.

Responsibilities

• Execute in-house architectural design work products and services within milestones and quality standards.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines for DBB/DB projects to ensure overall compatibility of site and building design.
• Conduct site investigation field trips to collect pertinent data.
• Provide post-construction award services (PCAS), including review of contractor submittals for conformance.
