Job summary

BB&E seeks an experienced Architect to support NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic (MIDLANT) in Norfolk, VA. You will lead architectural design, space planning, and code compliance for Navy facilities, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams on MILCON and renovation projects.

The role requires 7+ years of relevant experience and knowledge of DoD/Navy standards. Registration as a licensed architect is preferred but not required; bachelor's or master's degree in architecture from NAAB-accredited program is

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of professional, code-compliant architectural facilities design experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (NAAB-accredited) required.
• Knowledge of DoD/Navy specs, UFCs, IBC and Life Safety Code.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and DoD computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, professional architectural support for Navy facilities planning, design, construction and maintenance.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders and other disciplines to ensure system coordination and requirements alignment.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of third-party designs and provide recommendations on programming, space planning and code compliance.
• Develop architectural designs covering programming, space planning, concept design development, and cost estimates.
• Conduct site visits, verify scoping, and monitor construction progress.
• Assist with proposal development and support BB&E leadership in project delivery.
