Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in North Reading, MA is seeking an innovative engineer to design next-generation automated sortation systems for fulfillment centers, sort centers, and logistics networks. You will translate business requirements into cohesive robotic automation designs and validate feasibility through simulation modeling.

You will lead multiple projects, collaborate with systems engineering and operations teams, and travel up to 15% to sites in the US, Canada, and EU as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of design & innovation, research & development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or foreign equivalent.
• Experience managing engineering design projects.
• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Design automated sortation, packaging, and movement solutions across upstream/downstream systems.
• Analyze operational and financial metrics to inform design decisions.
• Partner with systems engineering and operations to optimize performance.
• Lead multiple concurrent projects with internal teams and external partners.
• Build simulation models and conduct throughput analyses to validate feasibility.
• Drive design projects from concept through implementation across robotics & facility infrastructure.
• Define requirements and push to product teams for alignment with business goals.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders through all design phases and startups.
