Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Lead Solutions Design Engineer for AR - SRT (FF) to design next‑gen automated sortation systems for FCs, SCs, and AMZL. You will translate business needs into robotic designs and validate feasibility via simulations, coordinating with systems engineering, operations and product teams.

Based in Massachusetts, you will lead multiple projects, work with global partners, and travel up to 15%. A Bachelor’s in Engineering is required; a Master’s is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in design, innovation, R&D or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or foreign equivalent.
• Experience in managing engineering design projects.
• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment and high-speed manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design automated sortation, packing, and movement solutions meeting throughput and standards.
• Analyze operational and financial metrics to guide design decisions.
• Collaborate with systems engineering and operations to optimize performance.
• Lead multiple concurrent projects with internal and external teams.
• Build simulation models and throughput analyses to validate feasibility.
• Drive design projects from concept to implementation across system interactions.
• Define requirements and push to product teams ensuring business-technical alignment.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders through all design phases from design to startup.
