Job summary

HDR is seeking an Architect in New York to design and deliver spaces that advance community well-being. You will evaluate techniques, manage limited variables, and work with project teams to develop solutions under guidance.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Architecture, at least 3 years of experience, be a Registered Architect, and proficient with Revit. Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills are essential to thrive in HDR's employee-owned culture in NYC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience.
  • Registered Architect.
  • Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, select and apply standard architectural techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment for minor adaptations and modifications
  • Perform assignments with specific objectives, requiring investigation of a limited set of variables
  • Follow instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions
  • Perform architectural assignments with direction, but without immediate supervision and with limited design responsibility
  • Recommend and select procedures
  • Write reports and specification covering architectural matters
  • Take responsibility for phases of individual revenue-producing projects as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed

In the role of Architect, we’ll count on you to:

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the areas of healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities
  • Preference given to candidates currently residing in the NYC-Metro area
  • Experience and/or interest in client-facing roles and responsibilities, including direct liaison with Owners/Users, desire to review and develop proposals for new or expanded scope of work, participation in business development efforts with clients.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
  • A minimum of 3 years experience
  • Registered Architect
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
