Job summary

HDR seeks an Architect to contribute to the design and delivery of spaces that advance community well-being. You will evaluate architectural techniques, lead with strong communication, and produce clear reports and specifications while collaborating across disciplines.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Architecture, a minimum of 3 years' experience, and registration. Proficiency in Revit, Office tools, and graphic presentation is essential, with a preference for Mid-Atlantic residents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in architecture.
  • Registered Architect.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and processes.
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills.
  • Commitment to employee-owned culture is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, select and apply standard architectural techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment for minor adaptations and modifications.
  • Perform assignments with specific objectives, requiring investigation of a limited set of variables.
  • Follow instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
  • Perform architectural assignments with direction, but without immediate supervision and with limited design responsibility.
  • Recommend and select procedures.
  • Write reports and specifications covering architectural matters.
  • Take responsibility for phases of individual revenue-producing projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Architect, we'll count on you to:

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • Experience in the areas of healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max
  • Rhino and Grasshopper experience
  • Preference given to candidates currently residing in the Mid-Atlantic (VA/MD/DC) Area
