Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an Architect in Seattle, WA to contribute to design and delivery of spaces that enhance community well-being. You will join a team of architects, planners, designers, and technical experts to solve complex design challenges with creativity and collaboration.

You will work across healthcare, education, and data center markets, leveraging strong Revit skills and a commitment to an employee-owned culture. This is a full-time role based in Seattle with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field (required).
Minimum of 3 years experience in architecture.
Registered Architect.
Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools/processes.
Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, select and apply standard architectural techniques with judgment for minor adaptations.
Perform assignments with specific objectives and limited variables.
Follow instructions on assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
Perform architectural assignments with direction and limited design responsibility.
Recommend and select procedures and write reports and specifications.
Take responsibility for phases of revenue-producing projects as needed.
Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Architect, we'll count on you to:

Evaluate, select and apply standard architectural techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment for minor adaptations and modifications
Perform assignments with specific objectives, requiring investigation of a limited set of variables
Follow instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions
Perform architectural assignments with direction, but without immediate supervision and with limited design responsibility
Recommend and select procedures
Write reports and specification covering architectural matters
Take responsibility for phases of individual revenue-producing projects as needed
Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Architecture
Experience in the areas of healthcare or mission critical (data center)
Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED
Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max
Rhino and Grasshopper experience

Architect role may be aligned with either our Healthcare, Education or Mission Critical (Data Center)/ Industrial group. We welcome candidates with experience in either market, and the position is structured to support strong architectural talent across a range of backgrounds.

Required Qualifications
