Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an Architect to contribute to the design and delivery of spaces and experiences that advance community well-being. You will collaborate with architects, planners, designers, and technical experts to solve complex design challenges in health, education, civic, and research facilities.

The role emphasizes design excellence, sustainability, and client-facing collaboration, with opportunities to influence projects from concept through documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in architecture.
• Registered Architect status required.
• Proficient in Autodesk Revit and related tools.
• Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Active participant in employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and apply standard architectural techniques with judgements for minor adaptations.
• Carry out assignments with defined objectives and limited variables.
• Follow instructions on complex features and possible solutions.
• Work with some direction and limited design responsibility.
• Recommend and select procedures for tasks.
• Write reports and specifications on architectural matters.
• Take responsibility for phases of revenue-producing projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

In the role of Architect, we'll count on you to:

• Evaluate, select and apply standard architectural techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment for minor adaptations and modifications
• Perform assignments with specific objectives, requiring investigation of a limited set of variables
• Follow instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions
• Perform architectural assignments with direction, but without immediate supervision and with limited design responsibility
• Recommend and select procedures
• Write reports and specification covering architectural matters
• Take responsibility for phases of individual revenue-producing projects as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the areas of healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities
• Preference given to candidates currently residing in the NYC-Metro area
• Experience and/or interest in client-facing roles and responsibilities, including direct liaison with Owners/Users, desire to review and develop proposals for new or expanded scope of work, participation in business development efforts with clients.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years experience
• Registered Architect
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
• Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
• Demonstrated graphic presentation skills

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) $100,013 - $142,875 per year.
