Job description

Brian Cleveland Architects is a growing architectural practice based in Fairfield County. We provide architectural design services across Connecticut, specializing in single-family and multi-family residential, adaptive reuse, office, and municipal projects. Renowned for its work with affordable, market-rate, and subsidized multi-family housing for developers, non-profits, and housing authorities, the firm emphasizes creating highly energy-efficient buildings. Guided by principles such as USGBC LEED, Passive House, and EnergyStar, the practice integrates sustainable strategies into our design ethos. With expertise in factory-built building systems, the firm efficiently delivers projects, reducing waste and energy use while accelerating client occupancy.

Role Description

We are looking for an Architect who is able to work well in a team setting with good communication skills. You will be required to interface with clients and manage consultants on multiple projects. You will need strong project design, detailing, 3D modeling and rendering capabilities and be able to oversee and produce a project through all phases of the project process: Space Planning, Code Compliance, Construction Documents, Specification Writing, Contractor Bidding, and Construction Oversite.

Candidates will be expected to work in-office and be able to occasionally travel to job sites. You will work under the supervision of the principal architect to develop project designs, make presentations, develop the project into working drawings, and produce project required technical information for project bidding and construction.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Architectural Design with a strong understanding of project development and detailing
  • Strong design skills and experience in creating thoughtful and innovative design solutions
  • Expertise in Architecture and Integration for complex building systems and sustainable practices
  • Excellent Communication skills for collaboration with team members, clients, and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools
  • Knowledge of sustainable building standards such as LEED, Passive House, and EnergyStar principles
  • Be able to generate conceptual design presentations and working drawings to meet deadlines.
  • Develop the Project Manual and Project Specifications.
  • Maintain a proactive dialogue with project team and clients through written and verbal communications.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program
