Job summary

WSP USA in Tempe, AZ is seeking an Archaeology Intern for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on experience on U.S. Southwest projects. This part-time internship is open to undergrad/graduate students and runs for 12 weeks starting May 17, 2027, with flexible start date.

You will assist with field work, data collection, research, and reporting under supervision, adhering to safety policies and the company’s Code of Conduct while developing technical and professional skills.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an Archaeology, Anthropology or related undergraduate/graduate program with anticipated graduation Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Archaeology or related field and desire to develop skills for WSP’s projects.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication when engaging with engineers and non-engineers.

Responsibilities

• Support Archaeology tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Cultural Resource Management.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary data analysis for projects in the U.S. Southwest.
• Assist in collecting field data and updating project documentation.
• Complete field and office training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies.
• Occasional travel may be required; no relocation or housing assistance.
