Job summary

WSP in the U.S. is seeking On Call Archaeology Field Technicians for project work in Arizona and New Mexico. Candidates with 1+ years of archaeological experience are preferred, working with supervisory staff on survey and mitigation tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 – 3 years of professional level experience researching and analyzing archaeological plans.
• Experience with NHPA, ARPA, NAGPRA, and relevant state laws.
• Ability to perform pedestrian survey and carry up to 25 lbs. of gear.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Class I-Class III assessments and avoidance recommendations.
• Travel to project sites in Arizona and New Mexico for fieldwork.
• Contribute to digital data collection and reporting findings.

Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Working knowledge of cultural resources and environmental regulations

Experience in North American archaeology

Education

BA/BS degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, History or related field

MS/MA preferred
