Job summary

WSP USA is seeking Part Time Archaeology Field Technicians in Tempe, AZ for fieldwork on multiple projects. Pay is determined by education and experience; single occupancy hotel rooms and per diem offered.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of field experience and be able to work in remote areas. Responsibilities include pedestrian and shovel test surveys, recording and mapping artifacts, and collaboration with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) year minimum of archaeological field experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support using basic archaeological field techniques for locating, testing, recording, mapping, and evaluating sites.
• Support field surveys through pedestrian surveys and shovel test surveys.
• Use topographic maps, aerial photos, and ESRI Arc Field Maps GPS data collection software to conduct survey work.
• Work long hours in remote environments and varying weather conditions.
• Collaborate effectively with groups of diverse personalities.
• Maintain a positive attitude, accept direction, and work independently when needed.
• Plan and execute personal assignments with minimal instruction.
