Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an On-Call Archaeology Field Technician to support Phase I/II field testing across the Mid-Atlantic region, including Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Baltimore, DC, and surrounding areas. You will work with senior archaeologists and other environmental staff to document findings, collect artifacts, and contribute to reporting.

Experience with field survey and shovel tests is preferred. The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and flexible travel to remote project sites

Qualifications

• Undergraduate coursework in anthropology, archaeology, historic preservation, or related field.
• Archaeological field school; can be substituted by 3 months of professional experience or certification program.
• 0-2 years of experience in cultural resources fieldwork or related settings.
• Willingness to travel to remote project sites and DMV area with reimbursed travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Phase I and II field testing including pedestrian reconnaissance and shovel tests.
• Document findings with detailed notes and soil descriptions; complete field forms.
• Collect and log artifacts and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Follow the Code of Conduct and company policies; support reporting and data collection.
