Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Archaeologist to lead regional cultural resources teams, coordinate fieldwork, and prepare reports for archaeological survey, testing, evaluation, and monitoring projects.

You will mentor junior staff, ensure safety, manage scopes, and collaborate with regulators and clients to deliver high-quality work on schedule and within budget. Travel to assigned sites is required with base coordination in the Mountain region.

Qualifications

• Permit for archaeological work in inter-mountain area (UT, ID, NV) preferred.
• Strong communication with clients, regulators, and academia.
• Proven track record of successful business development.
• Disciplined approach to project execution and technical excellence.
• Ability to provide written and verbal project direction.
• Leadership to improve technical performance and safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage tasks and projects to scope; deliver reports on time and within budget
• Perform QA/QC on deliverables
• Lead field efforts across the geographic region
• Interface with clients and environmental regulators
• Prepare contracts, drawings, and project permitting documents
• Provide supervision and mentoring to junior staff
