General Responsibilities:

Provide archaeological support, including surveys, testing, or excavations, and documentation. Adhere to strict safety standards.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Follow safety rules, participate in pre-task planning, and report safety issues.
  • Maintain quality standards on projects.
  • Assist with archaeological fieldwork, such as surveys, excavations, artifact collection, and documentation.
  • Conduct surveys or excavations using standard archaeological tools and methods under supervision.
  • Identify artifacts and stratigraphy, recording information systematically.
  • Support senior staff with additional tasks.
  • Maintain equipment.
  • Communicate basic information to supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field.
  • Completion of an archaeological field school or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of artifact identification, soils, and stratigraphy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to use GPS devices.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
