Job summary

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Archaeology, has 3+ years of supervisory field experience, can travel 25–50%, and is proficient with GPS data collection, artifact identification, and reporting.

This full-time, on-site role emphasizes safety, budgeting, and collaboration with field crews.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Archaeology or equivalent.
• Experience as field director on state, BLM, and forest lands in Arizona.
• 3+ years of supervisory field experience.
• 5+ years of Class III surveys, monitoring, or testing in the Southwest.
• Site recording knowledge per land agency specifications.
• Willingness to work in inclement conditions (heat, wind, sun).

Responsibilities

• Lead field surveys for projects with accurate data collection and reporting.
• Organize fieldwork mobilization and demobilization.
• Mentor Archaeological Technicians and review field protocols.
• Participate in kickoff meetings and project updates.
• Travel to project areas and operate GPS/data collection equipment.
