Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an Archaeological Field Director to lead cultural resource investigations across Arizona and the Southwest. The role involves directing field crews, maintaining QA/QC, and coordinating with project leadership on progress and scope changes.

The candidate will oversee survey, monitoring, testing, and data recovery projects, travel as required, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in anthropology/archaeology or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional archaeological field experience, with supervision exposure.
• Experience in Southwest archaeology; Arizona preferred.
• Experience with survey, site recording, monitoring, testing, and data recovery.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise cultural resource field projects (survey, site recording, monitoring, testing, data recovery).
• Lead field crews, assign daily tasks, manage logistics and safety.
• Ensure compliance with scopes, permits and agency requirements.
• Coordinate with Principal Investigator/PM on progress and scope changes.
• Document field data, QA/QC field records, and prepare reports.
