Job summary

Bar Partners / Amuze is seeking an Arcade Traveling Technician to inspect, repair, maintain, and collect revenue from arcade and amusement equipment across assigned locations. You will keep machines clean, stocked, and fully operational while managing route schedules.

The role offers independent work, opportunities to grow technical skills in the amusement industry, and requires regular travel within the assigned territory. A valid driver's license and safe driving record are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage the route: complete the assigned arcade sweep and service schedule, perform location check-ins, and prioritize work by equipment condition.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment: test games, clean, calibrate, stock, and perform preventive maintenance to improve uptime.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install: diagnose issues, repair/replace components, and handle installation/setup/removal tasks as trained.
  • Respond to service needs: handle calls and outages, provide/receive remote support for basic fixes, escalate complex issues with clear diagnostics.
  • Control cash and records: collect/reconcile machine revenue, record meter readings, protect funds, follow cash handling procedures.
  • Maintain inventory: track parts, document usage, assist with prize inventory at serviced locations.
  • Document and communicate: complete work orders, service notes, photos, reports; keep partners informed.

Job description

The Arcade Traveling Technician will be responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, maintaining, and collecting revenue from arcade and amusement equipment while ensuring machines remain clean, stocked, and fully operational. This role offers variety, independence, and opportunities to develop technical skills in the amusement industry.

  • Manage the route. Complete the assigned arcade sweep and service schedule, conduct regular location check-ins, and prioritize work based on equipment condition and customer needs.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment. Test games and amusement devices for proper operation; clean, calibrate, stock, and perform preventive maintenance to improve uptime and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install. Diagnose equipment issues; repair or replace components within training and authorization; and perform assembly, installation, setup, relocation, or removal tasks as assigned.
  • Respond to service needs. Handle service calls and equipment outages promptly, provide or receive remote support for lower-level repairs, and escalation complex issues with accurate diagnostic information.
  • Control cash and records. Collect and reconcile machine revenue, record meter readings, protect funds, and follow company chain-of-custody, deposit, and reporting procedures.
  • Maintain inventory. Track and organize parts stock, identify parts requirements, document parts used, and assist with prize inventory and replenishment at serviced locations.
  • Document and communicate. Complete work orders, service notes, photos, equipment-condition reports, and collection records; keep location partners and management informed about status and follow-up needs.
  • Work safely and protect company assets. Maintain assigned tools, test equipment, parts, and service vehicle in an organized condition and follow all safety, driving, security, and customer-site requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Mechanically inclined, with practical problem-solving ability and an interest in learning how arcade and amusement equipment operates.
  • Ability to learn and safely apply company repair methods, tool-use practices, service instructions, safety procedures, and work standards.
  • Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, documentation, customer service, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, communicate with a remote manager or support team, and reliably complete an assigned route.
  • Ability to use a smartphone, tablet, or computer for work orders, photos, service documentation, and communication.
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets job-related company and insurance requirements. Driving-history information will be evaluated in accordance with applicable law.
  • Availability for regular travel throughout the assigned territory and a schedule that may include occasional evenings, weekends, on-call needs, or approved overtime based on business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting or repairing electronic, electrical, mechanical, computer, vending, automotive, appliance, industrial, or similar equipment.
  • Experience servicing arcade games, redemption equipment, jukeboxes, vending machines, ATMs, kiosks, amusement devices, or other route-based equipment.
  • Experience safely using hand tools, power tools, a multimeter, or other electronic test equipment and following service manuals or wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with coin and bill acceptors, card readers, ticket and redemption systems, PC hardware, low-voltage components, or basic networking.
  • Prior field-service, route-service, cash-collection, inventory-control, or customer-location experience.
  • Technical certificate, trade-school education, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Physical and work environment
  • Regularly drive between customer locations and enter bars, restaurants, arcades, and other entertainment venues with varying noise levels, lighting, crowds, and floor surfaces.
  • Regularly stand, walk, reach, use hands for detailed repair work, and move into positions needed to access equipment; occasionally bend, kneel, crouch, or climb stairs.
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and position parts, tools, supplies, or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Team or mechanical assistance should be used when required by company safety procedures.
  • Safely work around electronic and mechanical equipment and use appropriate personal protective equipment and lockout or power-disconnection procedures as trained and required.

Competitive hourly pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications.
