Job summary

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Store Manager to create a pleasant, hospitable work environment and foster excellent customer relationships while driving sales goals. You will lead staff, ensure adherence to the ARC Operations manual, and maintain profitable store performance across budgets.

You will schedule personnel, oversee payroll, display merchandise, train new hires, safeguard cash, and report to the Administrator with safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in sales preferred.
• Ability to lead, manage and motivate others.
• Ability to read and interpret simple income and expense reports.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable DMV record.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility to work in any store location under ARC supervision.

Responsibilities

• Create a pleasant, hospitable work environment and maintain good customer relationships.
• Ensure compliance with operations manual and policies; issue warnings as needed.
• Meet sales, production, and expense budget goals to maintain profitability.
• Ensure merchandise is properly displayed on the sales floor.
• Recruit, interview, and recommend applicants to leadership.
• Conduct regular evaluations and coordinate training as necessary.
• Lead monthly staff and safety meetings; ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Schedule sales associates and unpaid staff; publish weekly shifts.
• Submit payroll information biweekly with signatures and attendance records.
• Order merchandise and maintain stocked, ragged-out, and colorized displays.
• Provide training and supervision for new employees and retraining as needed.
• Safeguard cash; manage cash receipts and related policies.
• Complete paperwork and sales reports for finance daily.
• Report site visits and inspections to Administrator; verify inspector details.
• Attend manager meetings and communicate new policies to staff.
• Protect property; report hazards, damage and injuries.
• Oversee work therapy beneficiaries; model professional conduct.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or Administrator.
