Job summary

Liberty Steel USA in Peoria, IL is seeking an Arc Shop Lab Supervisor / Metallographer to work with Operations, Maintenance, Scheduling, and Technical Services in the Melt Shop to improve processes and reduce costs.

This on-site, full-time role reports to Larry Avery and offers a comprehensive benefits package, a salary grade SG21, and opportunities for continuous improvement within a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of metallurgical processes.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize improvement opportunities in throughput, yield, safety, and other key areas.
• Lead or participate in teams addressing these issues.
• Serve as the primary resource for applying improvement methods.
• Promote Continuous Improvement using appropriate Quality tools.
• Supervise Melt Shop Observers and perform other duties as assigned.
