Liberty Steel USA is seeking a Refractory Area Supervisor to lead and coordinate all refractory operations supporting the steelmaking process. You will oversee EAF, ladle, tundish systems, ensuring safe, reliable maintenance and cost control while guiding hourly staff and meeting production goals.

The role calls for experience in heavy industry, strong leadership, and a focus on continuous improvement, with rotating shifts and on-site responsibilities in Peoria, IL.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent required.
• 1+ year in a steel mill or heavy industrial environment.
• Prior lead or foreman experience preferred.
• Experience in a unionized environment preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent with melting/casting/refractory experience.

Responsabilités

• Lead, supervise, and develop hourly refractory employees for safe, productive work.
• Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, performance management, and accountability.
• Administer and enforce company policies, procedures, and work rules.
• Manage workforce scheduling and staffing to meet operational needs.
• Collaborate with union personnel and comply with labor agreements.
• Promote engagement, continuous improvement, and skill development within the team.
• Oversee refractory operations for EAF, ladle, tundish, and related equipment.
