Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company seeks a Tree Care Coordinator to train and mentor climbing arborists in a defined territory. The role focuses on developing safe work practices, climbing efficiency, and career growth while actively climbing alongside trainees to guide hands-on learning.

Responsibilities include delivering field training, onboarding new hires, and coordinating safety and technical training with regional teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of progressive climbing arborist experience in safe tree care operations.
• Must be First Aid and CPR certified.
• Qualified in the Davey Career Development Program or able to qualify within 90 days of hire.
• Demonstrated coaching, mentoring, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide field training to new and existing employees to advance Career Development Program progression.
• Collaborate with Regional Skills Trainers and Safety Managers to enhance training opportunities.
• Lead new employee orientation including First Aid, CPR, Electrical Hazard Awareness, and safety policies.
• Mentor team members to improve engagement, retention, and advancement.
• Ensure onboarding tasks and Learning Management System documentation are completed.
• Document Close Calls weekly and participate in training-related projects.
• Assist in planning and coordinating training for pruning, removals, and crane work.
• Coordinate with Sales and Management to identify training needs.
• Manage procurement of approved gear and supplies within budget.
