Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Climbing Arborist Trainee. Your office is outdoors, and you will join a tree care crew to learn climbing, pruning, and removal techniques, with hands-on training and safety as priority.

You will progressively take on more complex tasks, including installing response systems and safety gear, while following Davey safety standards. This role offers full-time employment with benefits after orientation.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and progressively learn new skills as part of a tree crew.
• Perform tree pruning and removal tasks safely and professionally for clients.
• Assist in installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
• Contribute to safe work practices and customer satisfaction on every job
