Job summary

Bartlett Tree Experts in Portland, ME seeks an Arborist Crew Leader to lead a tree care crew and perform services safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include supervising pruning, cabling, rigging, removals, and operating equipment, while mentoring team members and maintaining client relationships.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and professional development, with a pay range of $22.00–$30.00 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• At least three years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience.
• Leadership or supervisory experience with a crew is preferred.
• Strong communication with clients and a commitment to safety.
• Valid driver’s license (Class B CDL preferred).

Responsibilities

• Safely performing and supervising all aspects of arboriculture, including pruning, cabling/bracing, rigging, removals, and equipment operation.
• Lead and train crew members to perform jobs to Bartlett standards.
• Ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with industry and company guidelines.
• Communicate with clients and supervise the crew on site.

As an Arborist Crew Leader, you will play an important role in

• Safely performing and supervising all aspects of arboriculture, including
  • Pruning
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Rigging
  • Removals
  • Properly maintaining and operating equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
• Bringing a cooperative and enthusiastic attitude to the job site
• Supervising and managing crews while performing tree care services, as directed by the Arborist Representative and Local Manager
• Ensuring that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment
• Ensuring that all tree care work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards
• Communicating, answering questions, and building relationships with clients
• A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
• At least three (3) years of tree climbing (DdRT or SRT) and aerial lift experience in the tree care industry
• Valid driver's license (Class B CDL preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, and self-motivated
