Job summary

Leidos in the United States is seeking an Arabic Linguist to support national security missions with translation, interpretation, transcription and gisting. TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required and must be fully adjudicated before starting.

The role demands a language professional with proven experience, strong cultural insight, and the ability to produce high-quality English reports from Arabic material. Travel up to 0-25% may be required.

Qualifications

• BA degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
• 5+ years of professional and recent translation, transcription, and/or interpretation experience is highly desired,
• Experience working with or as a targeter preferred
• Must successfully complete a Leidos-administered language proficiency test or equivalent at the Primary level or higher.
• Must Score 90% or higher on English test.
• HLT experience a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic online research.
• All candidates must take and pass language tests administered by LEIDOS/an accepted commercial testing vendor.

Responsibilities

• Provide translation from Arabic to English and vice versa with accuracy and cultural nuance.
• Provide consecutive and occasional simultaneous interpretation.
• Transcribe audio or video content into high-quality English reports.
• Identify and summarize key facts and abstract concepts from large datasets.
• Use reference materials to support quality output.
