Job summary

Meta Reality Labs seeks a Modeling and Simulation Research Scientist to advance AR/VR hardware development through coupled multiphysics modeling. You will accelerate device design by informing electrochemical and electro-mechanical systems in wearable AR/VR devices, collaborating with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to translate insights into actionable guidance.

You will lead model verification, develop robust workflows with COMSOL or ANSYS, and use MATLAB and Python for analysis,

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent research experience in a relevant engineering or science field.
• Experience with multiphysics modeling across mechanical, thermal, electrochemical and CFD domains.
• Proven ability to develop and validate complex models end-to-end.
• Proficiency with FEA tools such as COMSOL or ANSYS and CAD tools such as NX or SolidWorks.
• Strong scripting ability in MATLAB and Python.

Responsibilities

• Perform coupled electrochemical–mechanical–thermal modeling of electrochemical systems within larger devices.
• Conduct CFD modeling to design fluidic components for AR/VR devices.
• Interpret results and present insights to guide design decisions.
• Lead model verification and validation plans with data collection.
• Collaborate with partner teams to refine model development.
• Develop and maintain simulation workflows using FEA tools (COMSOL/ANSYS).
• Communicate methodologies and results through technical reports and design reviews.
