Job summary

The State of South Carolina invites applications for a Finance Clerk role within the DNR Accounts Receivable unit. The position handles daily operations including receipt and deposit of monies from various DNR locations statewide, utilization of SAP Invoice System, and coordination of journal entries for ACH deposits.

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of accounting principles, SCEIS, and effective communication with counties, treasurers, and court clerks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong knowledge of the SCEIS accounting system and related financial regulations.
• Experience with deposits, revenue recognition, and journal entries.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Process deposits received through the DNR AR unit.
• Receive, verify, and deposit all revenue monies (cash, checks, money orders).
• Process wire transfers and ACH deposits from Wells Fargo Commercial Electronic Office.
• Prepare and record journal entries for ACH deposits.
• Deposit revenue from SAP Invoice System and manual invoicing.
• Reconcile and maintain records for certified mail and notifications to the Solicitor's Office.
• Record and monitor financial transactions from third party vendors.
• Assist with streamlining processes for accurate recording of financial transactions.
