Job summary

Top Stack is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable & Property Accounting Specialist to support accounts receivable, tenant billing, cash management and property accounting activities. This role offers a collaborative environment with opportunities to improve processes and reporting across multiple properties.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in AR or accounting, strong reconciliations skills, and familiarity with AppFolio or similar systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounts receivable, bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations and financial recordkeeping.
• Experience handling high-volume transactions or multiple accounts.
• Property management or real estate accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with tenant billing, lease administration or utility reconciliations is a plus.
• Familiarity with property management or accounting software; AppFolio or similar systems preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections, payment processing and reconciliations.
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments.
• Prepare monthly billing statements and maintain accurate tenant accounts.
• Respond to billing inquiries and assist with payment-related questions.
• Process rent adjustments, lease charges, utility billings and other property-related transactions.
• Maintain accurate cash records, banking transactions and account reconciliations.
• Track security deposits, escrow accounts and related financial activity.
• Support accounting activities across multiple properties and business entities.
• Review financial records, identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.
• Partner with internal teams to improve processes, reporting and overall efficiency.
• Maintain accurate documentation and protect confidential financial information.
