Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; accounting coursework or related degree is a plus.
• Accounts Receivable or customer service experience is helpful, but transferable skills are welcome.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Comfortable communicating with customers by phone and email.
• Great attention to detail and accuracy.
• Well organized with good time-management and prioritization.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Interest in learning new accounting systems and processes.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, or freight is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support daily Accounts Receivable activities by monitoring customer accounts and balances.
• Contact customers by phone and email about past-due invoices and payment status.
• Research billing and account discrepancies with Billing and Operations.
• Maintain notes and documentation of customer communications and collection activity.
• Review balances and assist with account reconciliations.
• Prepare and distribute customer statements and related correspondence.
• Identify overdue accounts and involve team members as needed.
• Maintain accurate customer account information and documentation.
• Assist with month-end AR activities and reporting.
• Provide responsive customer service while following collection procedures.
