Addison Group is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Analyst (Collections) in Needham, MA to manage collections, resolve past‑due balances, and collaborate with internal teams on billing issues. This hands‑on role emphasizes high‑volume calling, accurate cash posting, and timely problem solving.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of AR/collections experience, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to research discrepancies while driving resolution in a large business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of hands‑on accounts receivable and/or collections experience.
• Experience following up on past‑due invoices and resolving outstanding customer balances.
• Comfortable making collection calls and conducting frequent customer outreach.
• Proven ability to research payment discrepancies and resolve account‑level issues.
• Strong understanding of AR aging, account reconciliations, and cash application.
• Ability to independently manage a high volume of accounts and prioritize collection efforts.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage collections for outstanding and past‑due customer accounts, prioritizing aged receivables to improve cash flow.
• Contact customers by phone and email to follow up on unpaid invoices, confirm payment status, and secure payment commitments.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, short payments, deductions, and disputed balances.
• Investigate aging reports to identify collection issues and determine appropriate next steps.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and remove barriers to payment.
• Reconcile customer accounts across multiple systems to ensure accurate balances and payment records.
• Apply cash receipts and post customer payments accurately and promptly.
• Maintain detailed records of collection activities, customer communications, disputes, and payment commitments.
• Track collection progress, escalate unresolved accounts, and provide updates on outstanding balances.
• Assist with AR cleanup initiatives by researching and resolving aged or unapplied items.
• Support month‑end AR reconciliations and reporting as needed.
