Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks an Accountant in the Accounts Receivable group in Poway, CA. The role supports complex government invoicing, contract cost analysis, and AR research, with emphasis on accuracy and compliance with CAS and FAR.

Responsibilities include preparing invoices to US federal agencies, budgeting, and reporting for multiple programs, while collaborating with internal and external contacts to resolve discrepancies and present findings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting; 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with a bachelor's degree, or at least 1 year with a master's.
• Strong knowledge of computer operations and applications; proficiency with spreadsheets.
• Ability to understand new concepts quickly; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and provide solutions to problems.
• Prior government contracting billing experience with Cost Reimbursable, Fixed Fee, T&M and Progress Payments desired.
• Understanding of CAS and FAR.
• Proven MS Office skills with strong Excel capability.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and perform complex government billing and AR tasks.
• Prepare inception-to-date contract cost, billing, and progress payments analyses.
• Review contracts to ensure invoice compliance with contract terms.
• Coordinate and participate in accounting data research and analysis.
• Perform budgeting and reporting for assigned projects or programs.
• Ensure compliance with department policies and procedures; maintain accurate records.
• Prepare and present complex reports; support management with findings.
• Prepare and submit invoices to US federal agencies.
