Job summary

City of Madison, Alabama is seeking a full-time Aquatics Supervisor to oversee pool operations and lifeguard staff. The role requires nights and weekend availability, and pools are open seven days a week.

Responsibilities include leadership, safety oversight, training, scheduling, inspections, and emergency response. Must hold lifeguard certifications and a high school diploma; driving record and flexibility are important.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma; two years of college preferred.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard certification required.
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Water Safety Instructor certifications preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Strong leadership and supervisory experience preferred.
• Able to work all seven days, nights and weekends.
• Experience with pool safety and chemical handling.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pool operations and lifeguard staff to ensure public safety.
• Lead safety inspections, monitor chemical levels, and maintain pool areas.
• Schedule staff and coach lifeguards; lead in emergencies.
• Assist with swim lesson registrations and program development.
• Enforce rules and educate patrons; lead first aid and CPR response.
• Provide in-service training and supervise aquatic programs.
