Must have or be able to obtain and maintain the following certifications: First Aid with Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Blood Borne Pathogens, Lifeguard Certification in accordance with CNICINST 1710.3, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Providers or equivalent.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Knowledge of pool and waterfront safety rules.
• Knowledge of the beach environment, marine life, and water hazards for waterfront positions.
• Knowledge of DoD, DON, CNIC, and MWR policies regarding aquatic assessment, certifications, and facility operations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures, if applicable.
• Ability to conduct pool chemical testing, document results, and adjust chemicals.
• Skilled in providing training.
• Proficient in surf lifesaving techniques and radio communications for rescue operations.
• Ability to identify hazards and assist patrons immediately.
• Ability to act decisively in emergency situations.
• Ability to enforce water safety and facility rules tactfully.
• Ability to conduct safety inspections.
• Ability to manage large groups and supervise staff.
• Effective communication skills both orally and in writing.

Additional Information

Salary depends on experience and education. Some positions may require a probationary period. Participation in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer and E-Verify is mandatory. A government-issued Travel Card may be required for travel. Compliance with Executive Order 12564 regarding drug-free workplace is mandatory.
