Responsibilities
- Campus Recreation Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of participants utilizing the Swenson pool on the WSU campus.
- Provide quality customer service to aquatic participants and serve as a resource for department and program information.
- Scan and patrol pool areas for safety; provide care in the case of an emergency or injury.
- Enforce facility and program policies; provide feedback to participants.
- Encourage participation in department programs (e.g., incentive programs to promote exercise adherence).
- Maintain solid communication with supervisor and co-workers.
- Perform daily upkeep and maintenance of office and pool facilities; be a supportive team player.
- Report to the Aquatics Manager.
Qualifications
- Required Qualifications: American Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR and AED for the Professional Rescuer/First Aid are required prior to working the first shift.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal communication and relational service skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: High School diploma; previous lifeguarding experience; work-study candidates.
