Job summary

YMCA of Honolulu is seeking a capable aquatic department administrator to oversee daily pool operations, safety, and program development. This role includes supervising lifeguards, swim instructors, and lesson scheduling while ensuring member safety and high-quality service.

The position requires lifeguard certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass CPR/First Aid/AED within 30 days. Part-time with afternoon, evening, and weekend hours in Hawaii.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience delivering Friendly, quality customer service.
• Strong management, supervision and staff development skills.
• Experience in program coordination and budgeting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversees administrative duties in the Aquatics department.
• Supervises daily pool operations and safety compliance.
• Schedules lifeguards, swim instructors, and swim lessons.
• Directs program activities to meet community needs and YMCA objectives.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and evaluates staff and volunteers.
• Maintains records of staff certifications and pool chemical levels.
• Creates and schedules swim and water fitness classes and meets.
