Job summary

Cherokee Town and Country Club is seeking a polished Aquatic Manager to lead safety, operation, and coaching across the Town Club and Country Club aquatic programs in Atlanta, GA. This full-time role reports to the Director of Fitness and Wellness and will oversee swim/diving teams, staff development, and program excellence.

Starting compensation is $63,000 per year, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and hospitality to a highly engaged membership.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred in recreation, sports management, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of management experience in aquatics or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of aquatics experience.
• Certification as Pool Operator or Aquatics Facility Operator required or obtained within specified timeframe.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications required.
• Solid knowledge of swimming and aquatic programming.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Swim and Dive Team operations including staffing, scheduling, programming, and daily activities.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
• Attend and participate in Country Club Swim League meetings, events, and socials.
• Collaborate with Cherokee Swim Team Association on operations, communication, programming, and needs.
• Recruit, onboard, orient, and train aquatics staff for staffing levels and readiness.
• Provide hands-on skill development and ongoing training while enforcing safety policies and standards.
• Monitor and manage aquatics operating budget; review monthly financials with Director and address variances.
• Develop annual operating budgets for aquatics programs and operations.
• Track and manage aquatics capital assets; assist with capital budgets and long-term needs.
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors (e.g., Sweetwater) including contracts and service agreements.
• Develop and maintain Aquatics Operations Manual covering scheduling, programming, maintenance, safety, and daily operations.
• Oversee pool water quality and readiness, including chemistry, testing, and standards compliance.
• Develop in-season and post-season programming for swim team and aquatics department.
• Ensure facilities are maintained, clean, safe, and presented per club standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Fitness and Wellness.
