Job summary

City of Loveland is seeking a Recreation Specialist in Aquatics at Chilson Recreation Center in Loveland, CO. The role includes leading swim lesson programs, supervising lifeguards and instructors, and ensuring guest safety and excellent service.

The position focuses on water safety, emergency response, staff development, and program execution, with shifts Tue–Sat and a competitive benefits package from City of Loveland.

Qualifications

• 1 year swim lesson instruction experience.
• 1 year lifeguarding experience.
• Experience leading or supervising others desired.
• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may substitute for education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lifeguards, swim instructors and aquatic staff; interview and hire staff as needed.
• Create staff schedules and assign duties based on facility and program needs.
• Monitor pool water quality, chemical levels, and proper filtration systems; perform maintenance checks.
• Develop and implement aquatics programs, including swim lessons and special events; guard swim areas and enforce rules.
• Respond to emergencies in the pool area and administer first aid when needed.
