Job summary

The YMCA of Central New York is seeking an Aquatics Coordinator for the East Area Family YMCA to lead aquatic programs and supervise staff. You will manage certification courses, swim lessons coordination, rentals, events, and pool maintenance, while ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for participants and lifeguards.

Responsibilities include staff supervision, program development, scheduling, safety compliance with health codes, and active involvement in member engagement and program

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; relevant work experience considered.
• Two or more years of supervision experience of aquatics staff preferred.
• Knowledge of Aquatic programs including Swim Lessons, water fitness, and certification courses YMCA preferred.
• Experience in pool maintenance and operations; ability to manage facilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to lead and motivate staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise aquatic staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
• Oversee certification courses, aquatic rentals, swim lessons, and special events.
• Maintain pool facilities and ensure safety, health codes, and risk management.
• Develop programs, schedule lessons, and support staff with planning.
• Engage members and foster a welcoming, inclusive aquatic environment.
• Attend mandatory trainings and support annual giving and retention goals.
