Job summary

City of Goodyear, AZ is seeking a Recreation Programmer in Aquatics to assist in coordinating and promoting a range of aquatic activities, including swim lessons, swim team, and Jr. Lifeguard programs.

The role involves supervising facilities and seasonal staff, data input for rentals, and ensuring safety and high service delivery. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in aquatics, proficiency with recreation software, and a valid Lifeguard Instructor certification with preferred Starfish

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years in aquatics or related field.
Proficiency with recreation software.
Current 2-Star StarGuard Lifeguard Instructor Certification and Starfish Swim Instructor Trainer Certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Analyze current aquatics programs and recommend enhancements.
Assist recruiting, hiring and training of part-time aquatics staff.
Support aquatic programming including swim lessons, swim team, and Jr. Lifeguard program.
Promote a positive, team-oriented culture aligned with the city values: Integrity, Initiative, Empathy, Optimism, Innovation, Adaptability.
Assist Recreation Coordinator with Parks and Recreation Master Plan goals.
Comply with Safety Management Program and city policies.
Maintain effective relationships with staff, participants, and the public.
