Job summary

YMCA of Greater Charlotte is seeking a Program Coordinator to manage day-to-day operations of a specified program, site, or department, ensuring high-quality delivery and positive participant experiences.

The role covers logistics, documentation, safety, and staff/volunteer communication, while upholding YMCA mission and values. A part-time plus schedule with opportunities for training and growth within our mission-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in recreation, education, human services, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operations of assigned program, site, or department to ensure smooth execution.
• Implement program schedules, logistics, and supply management in alignment with YMCA standards.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting related to assigned responsibilities.
• Communicate regularly with staff, participants, and partners to support program engagement and success.
• Monitor participant experience to ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.
• Serve as point of contact for program setup, logistics, and follow-through.
• Support the implementation of YMCA policies, procedures, and safety practices.
• Provide training, guidance, or mentorship to part-time staff or volunteers without formal supervisory authority.
• Apply critical thinking to address challenges, improve systems, and maintain program consistency.
• Contribute to ongoing evaluation and continuous improvement of assigned program(s).
