Job summary

Tulane University is seeking an Assistant Director for Aquatics to lead the development of aquatic programs and oversee facilities including an indoor Olympic-size pool and outdoor pool/sun deck. You will hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate staff, and promote Learn to Swim, ARC certification courses, and Scuba courses.

Primary responsibilities include risk management, staff training, payroll processing, event scheduling, and contributing to Campus Recreation growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma with 8 years of relevant experience.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and WSI Certifications are required.
• Master’s Degree is preferred for advanced management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and promote aquatic programs including Learn to Swim, ARC certifications, and scuba courses.
• Manage aquatic facilities, including staffing, payroll processing, scheduling activities and events.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate aquatic staff; conduct regular staff development and risk management trainings.
• Participate in Campus Recreation initiatives and university committees to grow recreational programs.
