Job summary

YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties seeks an Aquatics Program Director for the Gordon Family YMCA location. The role leads, develops, and evaluates high-quality member-focused aquatics programs and supervises staff and volunteers to deliver a safe, engaging experience.

Compensation is $23.06 to $23.56 per hour, with full-time benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off. Strong leadership and lifeguard certifications are required. Ongoing training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• YMCA Lifeguard Supervisor certification required.
• YMCA Lifeguard Certification, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid and Oxygen Certifications required.
• Minimum six months aquatics experience including 100 hours lifeguard service.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evaluate aquatics programs and events.
• Monitor pool operations to comply with health and safety regulations.
• Supervise and motivate the Aquatics Department staff and volunteers.
• Schedule lifeguards, swim classes, water fitness, and swim team practices.
