Job summary

YMCA in Tacoma, WA, seeks an Aquatics Program Director to lead and supervise a high-quality aquatics department for members and staff. You will organize, evaluate, and enhance programs while mentoring staff and volunteers to ensure safe, engaging experiences for all participants.

The role requires at least six months of aquatics experience with lifeguard hours, plus lifeguard and CPR/First Aid certifications.

Qualifications

Minimum of six months aquatics experience including 100 hours of lifeguard service.
Must pass Background and Reference checks (WA Fair Chance Act).
Must possess and maintain YMCA Lifeguard Certification, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid and Oxygen Certifications.
Bachelor's degree and/or two years related knowledge and experience that include supervision, fiscal management, program development, staff, and volunteer development.

Responsibilities

Organize, monitor, supervise, and maintain high quality member-focused aquatics programs.
Provide leadership, instruction and motivation for program participants through program development, evaluations, and ongoing training of staff and volunteers.
Develop and supervise the Aquatics Department team with commitment to provide a quality experience to staff and members.
