Job summary

University of Georgia is seeking an Assistant Director for Aquatics to lead the Gabrielsen Natatorium operations, supervise staff, and coordinate aquatic programs within Recreational Sports. The role reports to the Senior Associate Director for Facilities and oversees lifeguards, instructors, and aquatic managers.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, 3–5 years in aquatics and recreational sports, and ARC certification or ability to obtain within 1 month.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of professional Aquatics experience.
• Current American Red Cross certification or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and supervise daily Gabrielsen Natatorium operations and scheduling.
• Supervise 75–100 student lifeguards and aquatic staff; hire, train, and evaluate staff.
• Develop and manage Aquatics budget; monitor supplies and payroll costs.
• Lead program planning for informal Aquatics programming and coordinate with other departments.
